What’s fresh and ready to pick – week of August 31 through September 6th

farm long view of beans

With this latest rush of rain it seems fall weather has arrived. All of a sudden we started selling Cinderella pumpkins (fabulous for baking), Delicata and Spaghetti squashes.  Our giant and extra large pumpkins are that gorgeous orange color that says “it’s fall”!

It’s amazing how a shift in temperature signals to our bodies of fall and our childhood memories of turning leaves, heading back to school, and of course the fall harvest that is so delicious.

This week at the farm, we have ready for your picking:

  • tomatillos
  • peppers (hot and sweet)
  • squashes (summer and fall)
  • tomatoes (cherries, paste and slicing)
  • turnips
  • cucumbers (pickling and slicing)
  • beets
  • cabbage
  • collard greens
  • kale
  • chard
  • herbs
  • flowers

The farm’s fields are open to the public Fridays-Sundays (10:30-6 pm), but can open for your picking mid-week if you know what you want, can weigh it yourself, and pay with a check.

Give us a call at 206-719-8602 for mid-week scheduling.
