First Light Farm’s CSASC program (community supported agriculture supporting community) runs a little differently than many of the other organic farms’ CSA programs. Our purpose is to create a small, local program in order to foster the time honored practice of getting to know your neighbors. Healthy food brings people together, and in our world today accelerating towards greater depersonalization of relationships, First Light farm’s CSASC program works to support the development of meaningful relationships where individuals and families create lasting relationships. By using agriculture to support community, in our small way, we are helping create neighborhoods and workplaces where individuals are known and information can be shared to help create healthier, happier living or working environments.
First Light Farm’s Neighborhood CSASC Program has a couple options for you to choose from in an effort to cater to your different eating and cooking habits:
- A Full Order CSASC for $20/week from June through October which includes 7 to 10 different vegetables that our fields tell us are ready that week. We will do our best to provide you with a balanced offering of farm fresh veggies, herbs and flowers including salad greens, cooking greens, roots vegetables, and other veggies that are great fresh.
- A Half Order CSASC for $10/week from June through October which include 4 to 6 different vegetables that our fields tell us are ready that week. We will do our best to provide you with a balanced offering of farm fresh veggies, herbs and flowers including salad greens, cooking greens, roots vegetables, and other veggies that are great fresh.
There will also be additional items available to add to your bag each week. While supplies may vary throughout the season, these items will include vegetable, herb, and flower starts for folks who want to do some planting too, cut flowers, raw honey, organic fruits, and a variety of crafts made by our mini farmers and friends of the farm.
Email First Light Farm’s CSASC coordinator, Warren at email@example.com if this sounds like something you are interested in signing up for. And if you’ve done so already, you can visit our Online Store to purchase your share in the program!
We strive to be a bridge to connect our community with Mother Nature, and the bounty she provides. We hope you’ll consider our little local business as an alternative source for your veggies, and join us this year for what will be a wonderful, bountiful year!
